Known for producing luxurious cars, Volvo has introduced a new entry-level electric variant today,in their line-up. This variant is priced at nearly 3 lakh rupees less compared to the top variant. The new variant is named XC40 Recharge Single and is priced at Rs.54.95 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top variant costs at Rs.57.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The XC40 Recharge Single features a single electric motor and hence the name ‘Single.’ Bookings for this model are currently open and can be made through the company’s official website or authorised dealerships. Assembling of the car will begin at the Hosakote plant near Bengaluru.
Volvo claims that the XC40 Recharge Single variant will provide a range of 475 kilometers on a full charge, and according to ICAT testing, it is capable of covering 592 kilometers on a complete charge. The car will deliver a maximum power of 238 HP and 420 Nm oftorque. With a top speed of 180 km/h, it takes just 7.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
Equipped with a 69 kWh battery, the XC40 Recharge Single offers an 8-year or 1.60 lakh kilometers warranty(whichever comes first). The car weighs 500 kg, and a 11 kW wall box charger is provided. Volvo has mentioned that last year, a total of 510 Indian customers brought this model home, contributing to 28% of the company’s overall sales.
