The black-colored cars hold a significant appeal for many buyers. Tata Motors strives to meet this demand, and today they’ve launched the Dark Edition variant of their Nexon model, both for the regular and electric versions.
The Tata Nexon Dark Edition and Nexon EV Dark Edition are priced at ₹11.45 lakh and ₹19.49 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The designs of the two special edition models have undergone various changes. In this way, Nexon has secured its position at the forefront of India’s SUV market. Tata expresses hope that this new variant will captivate the customers.
Speaking in the context of appearance, the Nexon Dark Edition and Nexon EV Dark Edition are adorned with an imposing all-black theme, including black alloy wheels, black roof rails, and a black Tata logo. The cabin follows suit with black-themed leatherette seats, dashboard, and center console.
Despite the visual enhancements, there have not made any changes to the powertrain of these special edition cars. The 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine generates 87 bhp and 170 Nm torque, available with a 6-speed manual, AMT, or DCT gearbox. The 1.5-liter diesel engine produces 84.4 bhp and 260 Nm torque, offered with a 6-speed MT and AMT.
Notably, the Nexon EV Dark Edition version is opted in long-range variant, featuring a permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers up to 143 bhp and 215 Nm torque. With a 40.5 kWh battery pack, it provides a range of 465 kilometers on a full charge.
In addition to the Nexon models, Tata has also launched Dark Editions for the Harrier and Safari models, priced at ₹19.99 lakh and ₹20.69 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
