India’s largest retro motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield, is set to launch a new Scrambler model as their fifth bike in the 650cc segment, named Scrambler 650. It has been seen undergoing testing on Indian roads recently.This indicates its readiness for production.Now let’s delve into the details of this bike.
Royal Enfield Scrambler 650
Though it is based on the platform of the highly popular Interceptor 650 of the firm, it comes with several new upgrades.As per report, It is set to be launched soon in the Indian market. In terms of hardware, it features a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup to provide more ground clearance compared to the suspension system of the current model. What makes it ideal for riding through rough and uneven terrains.Notably, the design of the seat and the under-seat panel is slightly different.
Similar to the Himalayan 450, it includes LED indicators and a monopod unit offering various features such as Bluetooth connectivity and GPS navigation. However, it is not clear whether Royal Enfield will offer tubeless spoke wheels on this motorcycle or not.
Regarding the engine, the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 houses a 648cc parallel-twin engine, akin to other 650cc motorcycles of the bike-maker. This set-up will deliver a maximum power of 47 bhp and a 52 Nm of peak torque. It is anticipated that there might be slight changes in terms of performance for this engine.
