This is the 90s. The petite-faced Kinetic Luna is dominating the market in India. Despite production shutting down over two decades ago, two Lunas still catch the eye when seen outside. Even though the monarchy is gone, the harsh sound on the streets still asserts its existence with no answer yet. ‘Raf User’ still searches for it, a moped enthusiast, always on the lookout to buy. Kinetic Green is set to bring joy in the new year. Luna is transforming into an electric avatar named E-Luna.
In December last year, the founder of the company, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, had confirmed Luna’s comeback. E-Luna will officially launch in the Indian market in the first half of February. Bookings have already started, and you can book the Kinetic E-Luna for just 500 rupees.
Seeing the demand for battery-operated two-wheelers, Kinetic aims to capture the market with the electric Luna. The company promises that, like its predecessor, the new model, E-Luna, will be robustly built. Designed not just for metropolitan and primary city roads but also keeping in mind secondary, tertiary city roads, and rural areas.
Although the company hasn’t disclosed information regarding the battery and range of the upcoming E-Luna, they claim it’s intended not only for personal use but also as a suitable model for small business deliveries. Kinetic Green has a manufacturing facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, with a production capacity of 5,000 units per month.
