Alongside battery scooters, the electric motorcycle market in India is witnessing the introduction of new models. Bike enthusiasts are gradually showing interest in environmentally friendly models. To meet customer demand, various companies are entering the field with updated versions of existing models. For instance, Kabira Mobility, a Goa-based EV startup, has launched the updated versions of their e-bikes – KM3000 MK2 and KM4000 MK2. These models are priced starting from Rs.1.74 lakh and Rs.1.76 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
Kabira KM3000:
This electric bike, built in collaboration with Foxconn, features an aluminum core hub motor powertrain. It comes in two variants – KM3000 and KM3000-V, both being full-faired sports bikes. The first variant boasts a 4.1-kilowatt battery pack, providing a range of 178 kilometers. On the other hand, the KM3000-V is equipped with a 5.15-kilowatt battery, claiming a certified range of 201 kilometers on a full charge.
Both variants of KM3000 provide three riding modes – Eco, City, and Sports, along with Parking and Reverse modes. The top speed for both is 120 km/h, and they boast a maximum torque of 16.09 BHP and 192 Nm. Charging is facilitated by a 1500W on-board charger.Kabira KM4000 highlights:The KM4000 MK2, with a naked style, comes in two variants – KM4000 and KM4000-V, sharing the same powertrain performance as the KM3000 and KM3000-V. These models claim a top speed of 120 km/h and can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Both KM3000 and KM4000 offer ranges of 130 km in Eco mode, 150 km in City mode, and 80 km in Sports mode, while KM3000-V and KM4000-V provide ranges of 188 km, 150 km, and 120 km, respectively. Charging the batteries from 0% to 100% takes three to three and a half hours.
These motorcycles have a diamond steel tube frame, weigh 152 kg, have a ground clearance of 175 mm, and a water wading capacity of 200 mm. They feature telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock suspension at the rear, with a 13-liter storage capacity.
Kabira KM4000 Features:
Both KM3000 MK2 and KM4000 MK2 come with notable features, including Bluetooth and app connectivity, a 5-inch TFT cluster, switchable light, dark theme, projector headlamp for KM3000s, LED headlight for KM4000s, dual-channel CBS with regenerative braking system, and cruise control. Prospective buyers can take test rides, with deliveries expected to commence from March this year.
