The Tata Punch EV is creating waves in India’s electric car market upon its launch, challenging other electric vehicle sellers. Hence, Citroen, a prominent competitor to Tata in the electric car market, has launched their top-range Shine variant of the eC3, priced starting from Rs. 13.20 lakhs (ex-showroom), about a year after the initial launch. This variant comes with several new features in addition to those offered as accessories previously.
The Citroen eC3 Shine variant, launched in India, is priced over 40 thousand rupees higher than the top version of the Feel variant. The Shine variant introduces features like fox front, rear skid plate, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with a reverse camera, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, and rear defogger. The unique characteristics of the lower-spec Feel trim are also retained in this variant.
Similar to the Feel variant, the Shine variant also offers buying options like the Style Pack and dual-tone color at an additional cost of Rs. 15,000. Citroen hasn’t made any changes to the powertrain. It offers a 29.2 kWh battery pack. The electric motor, coupled with the front axle, produces a maximum power of 56 BHP and a torque of 143 Nm.
The Citroen eC3 Shine boasts a top speed of 107 kilometers per hour, claiming a range of up to 320 kilometers on a full charge. The battery supports DC fast charging. It takes approximately 10.5 hours for 10-100% charge with a 15-Ampere plug, while a DC fast charger can achieve 10-80% charge in just 57 minutes. In the market, it competes against Tata Tiago EV, MG Comet EV, and the recently launched Tata Punch EV.
