The trend of usage of electric cars is growing rapidly among Indian consumers. Maximum of them are willing to pay a higher upfront cost to escape from the annual expenses of fuel year after year recurringly.Recognizing this trend, BYD India has decided to introduce an another battery-powered model in the country. The upcoming model is named as BYD Seal,a sedan car.The bookings for the same have already been commenced. It is set to be unveiled in the Indian market on 5th March .
The matter of attraction is, the company has announced that all the customers who will book the BYD Seal by April 30 will get the opportunity to win UEFA match tickets. Not only that, the airfare expenses will also be covered by the company. It is anticipated that this car will come as the flagship model of automaker. Currently, BYD India sells a pair of electric vehicle models in India namely, the e6 MPV and the Atto3 crossover SUV. The price tag of these two models are INR 29.15 lakh and INR 33.99 lakh respectively (ex-showroom).
BYD Seal : Battery-range and performance
The BYD Seal will be available with both single and dual motor options. Depending on the version, it will be powered by either a 308 BHP with 360 Nm torque or a 522 BHP with 670 Nm of torque . With a full charge, the rear-wheel-drive will offer a range of 570 kilometers, while the dual motor setup will cover 520 kilometers on a full charge. The model features a high-capacity 82.5 kWh power battery pack.
On the other hand, the variant with a 61.4 kWh power battery pack will provide a range of 460 kilometers on a full charge. It will generate a maximum power of 201 BHP and 310 Nm torque from its electric motor. The smaller battery pack can be charged at 110 kW using DC fast charging, while the larger battery version will support 150 kW fast charging.
BYD Seal: Safety Rating
It is claimed to be one of the safest electric cars to enter the Indian market. Because,last year, it achieved a 5-star rating in crash tests from Euro NCAP. For adult and child occupants, it received ratings of 89% and 87%, respectively. Safety features include dual front airbags, belt pretensioners, belt load limiters, side airbags, and a center airbag. Other crucial features include autonomous emergency braking, lane assist system, etc.
