BYD Seal: Finally, that formidable car with a range of 700 km coming to India.Booking commenced.

India’s electric vehicle market is steadily growing, with companies introducing new models to captivate customers. Now, BYD (Build Your Dreams) from China is gearing up to make its mark on the global market with its new electric sedan, BYD Seal. Following the Atto 3 SUV and e6 MPV, this will be the company’s third EV model.According to sources, BYD is set to launch this new EV sedan next month, i.e., in March. Some dealerships have already unofficially started accepting bookings for the Seal. The model has been spotted undergoing testing on the streets of Chennai. Notably, the BYD Seal EV was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 in India.

BYD Seal: Features and Tech

The BYD Seal boasts essential features, including a 15.6-inch infotainment display that is also present in the Atto 3 SUV and e6 MPV. Additionally, it comes with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display. The floating touchscreen is covered by central AC vents, and the basic control is on the center console. Features include a heated windshield, audio system control via volume buttons, and two wireless charging pads. The dashboard is complemented with a gloss black touch, and speaker controls are also present.

BYD Seal: Powertrain and Range

Internationally, the BYD Seal offers two battery options – 61.4 kWh unit providing a range of 500 km and an 82.5 kWh battery offering 700 km range. Both large and small battery versions can be charged at rates of 110 kW and 150 kW, respectively.

Again, this car offers two powertrain options – a single motor and a dual motor. The first one has two battery alternatives, whereas the second model is available only in the larger battery version. According to sources, the Indian version of the car will have a dual motor and all-wheel-drive powertrain setup. It will produce 530 hp from both motors, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. In other words, this car will be more powerful than the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.

BYD Seal: Launch in India

Several BYD dealerships in India have already begun bookings for the Seal unofficially.Delivery is expected to commence post-launch, with pricing details to be announced by the company. The estimated price for this luxurious car is speculated to be around 50 lakhs INR.
