Bugatti Bolide features the world’s largest braking calipers
Bugatti has revealed that, to bring the hypercar Bolide to a controlled halt from high speeds, they have employed eight-piston monoblock calipers at the front and six-piston calipers at the rear. These are made of nickel-coated aluminum. The claim is that it houses 15.3-inch carbon discs. However, the braking pads and rotors at the front wheel are relatively narrow.
Incidentally, the Bolide car first arrived in the year 2020 and it was brought forth by Bugatti. Since then, it has been showcased multiple times and has turned heads wherever it went. To showcase its capabilities in any weather, this car, weighing 1,451 kilograms, is capable of producing 1,801 horsepower. Even in rainy conditions, the model delivers the same output on the racing track.
Bugatti is planning to deliver the Bolide car to customers from the very 2024. But according to the firm only 40 units of this model have been manufactured so far.It comes with a hefty price tag of $4 million. In Indian currency, which is approximately around 33 crores. Regarding the braking system of the car, Brembo’s Chief Operating Officer Mario Almondo said, ‘To control the speed of this high-powered car, the entire system had to be designed anew.”
