After four-wheelers, now two-wheelers will also run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). In pursuit of revolutionizing personal transportation, Bajaj Auto, a leading two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, had made such an announcement last year. Now, the company has declared the launch timeline for the world’s first CNG bike. Bajaj’s Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj, shared this information.

Bajaj CNG bike is expected to hit the market in the next quarter. In an interview given to a national news agency yesterday, Rajiv Bajaj commented on when the first CNG motorcycle would hit the market. He mentioned that the fuel cost would be reduced by almost half. He compared the new model with Hero Honda, the duo that had transformed the country’s two-wheeler market. Rajiv mentioned that the cost of fuel and maintenance for a CNG bike would be approximately 50-65% less than a petrol vehicle. CNG-powered vehicles emit less pollution than petrol vehicles.

Tests have shown that due to CNG combustion, the prototype model produces 50% less carbon dioxide, 75% less carbon monoxide, and 90% less non-methane hydrocarbon. This is considered quite impressive for the environment. Additionally, Bajaj has announced the launch of their most powerful Pulsar, the 400cc Pulsar, in the financial year 2024-25.

It’s worth noting that last month, Bajaj introduced new features as updates for every bike in the Pulsar N and NS ranges. The models now come with LED headlights and smartphone connectivity, along with a full digital instrument console. The new versions of Pulsar NS200, NS160, NS125, Pulsar N160, and N150 are already available in showrooms.
