The trend of buying electric scooters among Indians is gradually increasing, especially among young consumers who prefer high-performance models. Considering this, Ather Energy launched the 450 Apex at the beginning of 2024. Being the company’s most premium flagship model, it comes with a slightly higher price of ₹1.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Ather has announced that deliveries of this electric scooter have commenced.
Production of the 450 Apex has started
Ather has confirmed the commencement of production for the 450 Apex. Co-founder and CEO Swapnil Jain have even shared a picture of the new model. The work to bring these scooters from the factory in Hossur and Tamil Nadu, to showrooms has begun. If everything goes smoothly, deliveries are set to begin from the month of March. The scooter’s distinctive feature is its transparent body panels that makes the internal components visible from the outside.
Based on the 450X platform, the latest model, Ather 450 Apex, is equipped with a 7 kW electric motor that generates 26 Nm of peak torque. It introduces the new Warp+ mode and achieves a top speed of 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds which is faster than that of 450X. The scooter boasts impressive features, including regenerative braking with negative throttle input, allowing speed reduction without using the brake lever. Ather claims a range of up to 157 km that surpasses the predessor 450X’s of 150 km. The Ather 450 Apex is available in two colour schemes which are blue and orange
