The automaker has hinted that they are planning to introduce an another electric car by mid-2026. It will be an MPV model like Ertiga that has been codenamed as YMC. The skateboard platform is solely used for electric car production and the battery pack gets integrated with the floor. This platform allows the facility for the battery to be connected or disconnected as per requirement, making it possible to adjust inner length to get more or less. Hence, the versatile 27PL platform is suitable for producing cars of various ranges.
Now let’s talk about the YMC electric MPV. As per reports, it will offer both 40 kWh and a 60 kWh battery pack like the eVX.With the larger battery pack model, a range of 550 kilometers can be achieved. Hence, it will be an ideal replacement for petrol-driven cars and also the number of battery charging facilities in India is increasing rapidly.Hence, there won’t be anything surprising, if the YMC MPV is to be launched as an electric avatar of the Ertiga by the company.
Maruti Suzuki’s EVX electric SUV’s production-ready model is expected to debut in the international market by 2024. But in India it may even be launched at the beginning of next year or before 2025 kicks.
