Tata Motors is expanding its CNG portfolio, launching new CNG cars alongside their existing lineup. Following Tiago and Tigor CNG, they’re now preparing to launch Nexon CNG. This model was showcased at the India Mobility Show 2024.
The Nexon CNG will be the first car in its segment to have a turbo-petrol CNG engine. It will compete directly with Maruti Brezza CNG. While the company hasn’t revealed the exact launch date, it’s expected to hit the market before Diwali. Tata has confirmed that the Nexon CNG will be launched this year.
To enhance its driving performance, the Tata Nexon CNG will feature twin CNG cylinders with 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. However, Tata hasn’t disclosed the output and mileage details yet. Like Tiago and Tigor CNG, the twin CNG cylinder setup will provide ample boot space.
The design and styling of the Nexon CNG will be similar to its petrol and diesel versions. It will feature ISG to switch between CNG and petrol modes seamlessly. Notably, the engine can be started directly in CNG mode. Additionally, Tata has confirmed that besides Nexon CNG, they will also launch the Curvv SUV Coupe model this year. The electric version will be introduced first, followed by the turbocharged diesel engine variant
