At the beginning of February, Yamaha entered the market with a fight for dominance. To impress buyers, the company announced the launch of a new color variant of their exclusive non-retro bike, the FZ-X. The attractive chrome-colored motorcycle comes with a 150cc engine and is priced at 1.40 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). Yamaha has stated that they will give special gifts to the first 100 customers.
The first 100 customers who book the Yamaha FZ-X chrome model will receive a Casio G-Shock wristwatch. It will be delivered along with the bike. Yamaha India has indicated that the main purpose of adding this new color variant is to attract young buyers. Various parts of the motorcycle, such as the headlamp and fuel tank, feature chrome color accents. Other parts are adorned with brushed aluminum and black.
Like Yamaha’s other models, the wheels also have a gold touch. Unlike wheels with chrome costing over 2 lakh rupees, Yamaha offers this feature for just 1.40 lakh rupees. Apart from the color update, there have been no changes in terms of engineering. It still features a 149cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This same engine is also found in the FZ-S. It produces a maximum power of 12.2 BHP at a speed of 7,250 rpm and a torque of 13.6 Nm at a speed of 5,500 rpm.
To handle suspension duties, the Yamaha FZ-X chrome model features telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock unit. For braking, there are disc brakes on both wheels and a single-channel ABS. Notable features of the FZ-X include full LED headlamp-tail lamp, traction control system, Bluetooth connectivity with full digital instrument cluster, side stand engine cut-off function, and USB charger.
